The idea of an Automate Print Server is one that many people have not thought about, but which is rapidly gaining in popularity. Essentially, this is a type of print job which automatically starts printing when it finds a compatible driver and then stops when the job is done. The most common use for such a print job is with printing tasks which need to be completed repeatedly, such as with receipts and sales slips. Such jobs can also be used for printing lists and product information, and for anything else that may require printing.

As soon as you have installed such a software utility, all that is required from you is to supply your own monitor, inkjet printer and toner. Of course, before any of those things are even installed, you’ll need to install a suitable ‘print server’, which will manage the connections between your printer, your fax machine and your computer. The print server software will actually do the rest, passing on messages to your print job, automatically stopping when the job is complete.

Obviously, there are many different types of automate print server programs, ranging from those which allow just one application to run on your PC, all the way up to those which will allow a number of different applications to run simultaneously on your system. In practice, the easiest to use is probably that which simply connects your print server application to your computer via a USB port. This is what many of us usually use, as it is easy to get such a program running on the go. However, if you’re someone who likes to use a more comprehensive solution, you’ll find it much more convenient to pay for a software program that allows you to connect to multiple print servers at once. These types of programs generally allow a user to set up as many print servers as needed, and often they come with the necessary drivers to be able to use all of them simultaneously.

When it comes to actually setting up and using such a program, you’ll find that it’s not actually too difficult at all. You’ll basically need to plug in the required hardware, and then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation process. Just a quick note here – make sure you have the right drivers installed (many of these programs use the MAC address of your printer to identify it, so make sure you have the correct one). Once you’ve done that, the software will then prompt you to install the necessary driver software needed to run your print jobs. You’ll also need to ensure that you’ve got the right software installed, and that you have your PC/laptop plugged into the right USB port for the program to run correctly.

The nice thing about these programs is that once you’ve installed the appropriate driver software, you can pretty much set them up to do their job on their own. They’ll usually detect your printer, pick up any printing that needs to be done, and then complete the job. At that point, you’ll find that virtually all of your print jobs have been automated, and you’ll find that your workload has decreased dramatically. As you can imagine, this can be an extremely useful tool for people who are always working on the go. It certainly beats having to hire someone just to print out documents for you – and it’s even less expensive than hiring a staff to do it for you! To get these print software programs to work with your printer, you’ll need to be sure that your printer is properly positioned. If you’re planning to use them on an older machine, however, you’ll need to make sure that it has enough USB ports to handle the software on it. Otherwise, you might find that your printer isn’t compatible with many of these programs, and you’ll need to buy some more up-to-date equipment in order to use them on your printer.
