Good for price but now many more products on market that are better. What I didn’t realize was that this wasn’t for Premiere Elements 4. I figured it still meant I’d be paying more money, since I’d be getting something I didn’t need.

The joke’s on me. I suppose it’s my own fault: I should’ve looked at the publication date and realized it was a little old for the version I was using. But since I’ve never used Premiere Elements before, I really don’t know how often new versions come out. And there are many things that have nothing to do with what I’m working on. I mean, it references tools that either don’t exist or are hidden somehow. Yes, I’m pretty disappointed.

But, like I said, I obviously didn’t dig deeply enough. So that means I’m out the 22 bucks for a useless book. And, please, don’t say, “Photoshop Elements is great. I don’t need the baby brother. And I certainly don’t need a book to teach me how to play with the baby brother. It just kills me that I have to pay for something else that I don’t need or want.

I was looking to buy one for Premiere Elements version 4. I use Photoshop CS3 and certainly did not need a combination book. In the list with the combination book, I saw the Adobe Premiere Elements book, but was unaware that the book did not fit version 4. I believe that the Amazon posting should be clear.

The software for 3. It is a bad feeling to get stuck with a book that is useless. Not sure why someone would think this is the manual. It is not the manual, it is a separate book with a DVD full of projects to work on and step by step exercises on things like Editing and Transistions, special effects and titles and how to make a DVD.

I found this book to be a great introduction to working with video on my computer- I chose Premiere Elements because it let me burn a DVD from the program. The chapter in the book is much better than anything in the manual as it tells you how to set up chapters and make a menu. For someone who didin’t know anything about video this book introduced me to the subject in a way that was easy to follow. If you have used an “Adobe Classroom in a Book” before, you know what this one is like.

It happened again several more times. I still love the book and will pick it up again soon, but I started working with a video tutorial on PSE and am really enjoying it. What I would not recommend any more.

When I finally received it, it was very informative as all of the previous manuals for Photoshop Elements have been. So if you are using Photoshop 12 I would highly recommend it. What I would not recommend any more, as I have been doing for a number of years with the previous Photoshop Elements, is recommend the program itself.

Many of the most useful features have been deleted from the program. Things that normally had been very intuitive and took only one or two steps to use them, now are replaced by others that are no longer intuitive, and in some cases takes four or five steps to do the same thing, and not doing them very well afterward.

One person found this helpful. This is my favorite book, it takes you step by step and explains clearly. This book is a MUST have. While I consider myself to be an advanced photographer I would rather be out in the field taking pictures than behind a computer editing and I have found this program easier to use than other software. This books helped to some degree but I also purchased other books to help. I have taken 2 Adobe Photoshop Classes, and was overwhelmed by all the information and the speed it was delivered.

This book has pictures, an Index, and the Table of Contents tells clearly where to look. I really need help organizing my pictures and the class didn’t address this, but the book has a whole chapter on it. What a relief. Photoshop Elements 12 is a great tool, but there is so much to explore in it, and the book answers my questions. Excellent book for people who want to teach themselves. Adobe Photoshop is complicated, but very powerful and takes considerable time to learn, but well worth it, because of the possible features.

We purchase manuals to assist us with use of a software program MORE proficiently. This brand of product seems to work with Adobe Photoshop products. The description for this item should state that the book and the enclosed CD-ROM are aimed at users with the Windows-based version of Photoshop Elements 6. Although if you can read the fine print in the lower left corner of the cover you will be able to see that information.

Macintosh users should be advised that there are some significant differences between the Windows and Macintosh versions and those are not dealt with in this book. See all reviews. Although I am still studying this book I can say that so far I have found it to be very well structured and easy to understand, there is a link to download lots of photos etc.

I had planned to go on a course but these are expensive and hard to find in convenient locations, I doubt very much I will need to go on a course when I have finished studying the book and doing the exercises unless I want to develop very advanced skills. The Photoshop Elements Software bought separately has a cataloguing system for your photographs, although I have used an earlier version of Photoshop elements I never really understood the cataloguing system until I bought this book, as a result I broke of from studying it to completely rebuild my catalogue which took a few weeks as I have many thousands of photographs taken over the last 6 years or so since I went digital but was really worth it as I can now find pictures by many different search criterion very quickly and keep it updated now as I add more photographs.

When I have finished this book I will buy the equivalent book for Premier Elements as I have also started doing some video. A comprehensive guide to using a now complex and sometimes counter-intuitive piece of software. The book reflects the nature of the software, which has grown from a simple intuitive and user-friendly tool into something requiring significant training and practice.

The lesson’s are short movie clips that you work on to add effects,trim, or delete to make a short movie. The cd provides you with a final “movie” for each lesson so you will know what you are trying to achieve.

This book is for the beginner. I would say there are few advanced tips in this book. If you are new to Premier elements or just can’t grasp how it works this is an excellent book for you.

The only criticism that I have about this book is that a proofreader did obviously not check it. Amazon should put this label on all of its out of date manuals.
