We just bought a couple of servers from Lenovo and added a 5-User CAL to each, the CALs came with a Tracking Number in them, but when I went to add the licenses to Windows I can’t find a type that has a Tracking number, so how can I add these licenses to our new servers?
The short answer is you don’t need to. Windows Server does not have an option to install device or user CALs. Just hang on to the documentation in the event of an audit. Otto Wang. I’m having the issue similar in that the CALS are there but not being used. I used the RD licensing manager to add them to the server. There they are under the server name but there is a yellow warning sign listed over the server name. When more than two users log in at the same time, the machine wants the users on the machine to log off to make room so that only two users can be there at once.
